For more than seven decades, the Coarsegold Rodeo has stood as a proud tradition in the Sierra foothills. What began as a small-town gathering of local ranchers and cowboys has grown into a signature community event, now celebrating its 73rd year in May 2026.

Held the first weekend of May each year, the rodeo brings together generations of families, rodeo athletes, and visitors to experience the thrill of professional rodeo action, the spirit of community, and the preservation of western heritage.

The Coarsegold Rodeo is CCPRA-sanctioned, showcasing top-level competitors from across California and beyond. From bronc riding and barrel racing to roping and bull riding, each event highlights the skill, grit, and heart that define the rodeo way of life.

But the Coarsegold Rodeo is more than just a competition—it’s a celebration of community. Alongside the action in the arena, guests enjoy youth events like mutton bustin’, live entertainment, vendors, food, and the annual Coarsegold Rodeo Royalty who represent the spirit of rodeo throughout the year.
